Had a trail that I went on a few years ago where we went past a chain that had been taken down, cruised for a couple of hours and were heading back down the same way we came in. A couple of homeowners took it upon themselves after seeing us go up the trail to put the chain back up and lock it. (no w...

I had a similar experience around 3 years ago. Jim and I drove my yellow 710 to a local car show to check out the show. We parked in the parking lot right next to the vehicles on display, and it was impossible for us to get out due to the entire group checking out the other vehicles swarming us. Ver...

Well yeah, they aren't tanks (or even ligthly armored). They are merely light weight troop transporters. Just like Hummers are death traps. Not sure about that... The article says " A defence expert has called for the removal of Pinzgauer vehicles from Afghanistan after a sixth soldier ...

You passed me last Tuesday going up the 15 towards Riverside while I was driving around 70MPH. Do I win?

from Oct 2006 I went last weekend to Off Road Warehouse in San Diego and asked if they had some limiting straps I could use for the Pinz. The salesguy came outside and asked what type of Unimog it was. I told him what it was, and his response was that I was mistaken?! He showed his wealth of knowled...

I made a bunch of these for people. They replace the access cover and use the same locking device. My original design (the one thats in my 712) is taller at the storage compartment and most felt it was too high for their liking. This shorter version seems to be just about right for most and yes tha...

Big Bear tour

Just a thank you to Eric Minnick for a great trail ride in Big Bear this weekend. My family and I were up in Big Bear for the weekend for a softball tournament, and I gave Eric a call to let him know I was in the area to see if he wanted to get together. He told me he was going to be doing tours all...

What's with the Dennis bashing? I'm not defending or adding anything of value here, but Dennis is right (at least in regards to the value of the Pinzgauers). I'm seeing 710s in the $7-10K range all the time, and I frequently have customers asking me to buy theirs for that price range. 712s usually b...

The minor loss of low end is nothing compared the the quieter and I'd imagine more fuel efficient nature of the higher gears. In SoCal, it is a huge advantage; you would be able to at least be only 15 MPH below the 80MPH speeds normally carried on the freeways. I swapped the stock tranny to the TD t...

I did an exhaust just like that on my 712. SB, why don't you post some pics of the exhaust on your truck for everyone else to check out.
