That may make shipping more affordable for me. I want this so bad! Hopefully tax time will be good to me! Andre, think shipping to Georgia 30677 would be worth it?

Re: Door pa els

I think im going to try it. I'll order some I found. I may have to ask for a measurement or two for the cup, but I'm going to try it.

Re: Door pa els

Love the plastic idea! I wish I had a template lft. My panels were so bad they fell apart and went in the trash.
Did you find the plastic online?

Door pa els

My old door panels are shot. Looking for opinions on some of the aluminum ones out there. I like the diamond patterned ones, but the plain ones from SAV aren't bad either. Anyone have a preference and why?

Insurance?

Any suggestions on who to carry for insurance? I'm having a hard time getting my 710m insured.

Re: Any tricks to removing side rails?

Probably going to get Andre to make me a set of tube metal ones. Not going back with wood, even though I could make those in my shop.

Re: Dumb question from the new guy again

Thanks! I'm choosing to powder coat as much as I can because he will sand blast beforehand. Saves me a ton of sanding, especially in the hard to reach crevices and rust spots. Any downside to powder coating instead of paint?

Dumb question from the new guy again

Does the front wide rollbar come off like the rear on a 710m? It looked welded. It's hard to tell I was thinking of having this along with the rear and cross members powdercoated.

Any tricks to removing side rails?

Just took ownership today and started stripping it down for cleaning, etc. Trying to take the rotten wood off, but the screws either spin or won't budge. Drill them out? I'm sure the nutserts are spinning, but don't want to damage anything. Any trick/tips?

Re: Brakes from new guy

Thank you guys for the responses! Brakes are certainly on my top list of things I want for the Pinzgauer! I'm not sure if the learning curve is too big for me yet... we will see soon enough.

Re: Brakes from new guy

Sorry for the rant, but Pinzgauers are hard to come by down here. I really want this one and don't mind buying a new master cylinder. Is this where you guys would start or somewhere else. I plan on restoring this one as much as I can and keeping it forever. I want to do it right the first time.

Brakes from new guy

I would like to introduce myself since this is my first real post. My name is Mark McClain from Georgia. I test drove a 1973 710m today and all looks good until I hit the brakes. They were very squishy and barely stopped. I am no mechanic, pretty mechanically inclined, but still no mechanic.....but ...
