Re: anyone know what happened to this pinz

What is the small rectangular door/panel just forward of the bottom of the driver's door? If there are 5 more 5 gals cans on other side (ballast?), that extra 50 gals (total reserve) would be nice for an extended expedition :D ! Maybe there is a door amidship on the other side?

Re: Unimog in "Act of Valor"

My best guess is "poetic license" so they don't tip their hat to the bad guys on their true capabilities. Our technological and training edges are what allow us to smack the bad guys silly before they even know it!

Re: Unimog in "Act of Valor"

Jan - the photo in the 1st post was not viewable to me at work and I only saw it last night on my home computer. I have not seen this apparatus display before. I am sure it is poosible that the movie makers took some poetic license and the SEALs have some pretty radical/advanced technologies that th...

Re: Hand throttle-throttle lock...

I have found it useful on choppy inclines where the up and down motion of the Pinz can cause you to fluctuate (bounce) your foot on the accel pedal causing uneven accel/decel. I get a more even throttle response which puts down power to the ground smoothly and seems to aid the climb. You have to set...

Re: Unimog in "Act of Valor"

Do Special Forces actually use binoculars/night optics that look like they're out of Star Trek? Or just regular, bulletproof Steiner binos and Night-Vision Goggles that do the job without the greenish stuff on the side? I'd love to be proven wrong, but in my opinion the greenish "data display&...

Thanks Bruce - that looks like it should do the trick. What diameter and length did you use and were you happy with the fit?

Mine are deteriorated. I am looking for the one that goes from the exhaust system to the intake to warm the carbs.

Thank you.

heater fuel pump inop (710K)

Looking for suggestions to repair this pump which sits behind the pass. seat. I removed the input fuel line to my heater fuel pump as it was causing my engine to starve for gas at anything under a 1/2 tank of gas. As soon as i disconnected the fuel pump the engine ran fine at all levels of gas. i ex...

Regapped to 38 thou and checked for spark at each plug. Put it back to gether and my power has returned with no sign of backfiring. Gonna check my carburetion as i may be losing some power there as well. But, overall she is running fine. Thanks for your inputs. If I want to convert my shielded ignit...

I pulled the plugs (thanks for the tip - I am ashamed to say I have never worked with this type of shielded ignition wire system, but what's worse is, I have never checked my plugs  ) and all but one are pretty fouled. I was surprised to see that all of my bosch plugs are set at approx 35 to 4...

Thanks for the info fellas. What is a suitable replacement for the coil? Local acquisition is great, but one of our Pinz vendors is fine too.
