Re: Restoration & upgrade ideas

The bigger "comfort" items that I would recommend... Power steering (EZ) EFI (Goatwerks) 2.7L motor rebuild (Goatwerks) SAV Power brake booster Webasto or clone heater (depending on your use case) I would say that the seat swap is more of a preference than an upgrade. Do try before you buy.

Re: General Components Bison 2000A heater

Without indication to the contrary I would suspect that heater is of Chinese origin. Images are certainly the same as used for some of the Chinese listings. Not a bad thing IMO, but I'd price compare against the bigger Chinese outlets (Ali Express, etc.).

Re: Carburator - "Hot Climate" Version

I'd recommend chatting at Jim LaGuardia of Goatwerks on this topic. He's one of the carb gurus here and has undoubtedly rebuilt and tuned more Pinzgauer carbs than just about anyone else. I'm sure he'll be able to get you sorted.

Re: Tachometer with hourmeter

No, I've never come across an operating clock/tachometer combo guage in that diameter. I appreciate that you asked a different question, but if you'd like to keep the clock, have you considered a speedometer/tachometer combo guage instead? Many more options there and it would achieve the same functi...

Plenty of aggressive driving and no tire contact with the mattock or shovel mounted in the wheel wells. I've been told that this is the standard shovel mounting location on Austrian 712s(?). Yes, 255/85.

Simple Mod - Mattock Mount

It's been a bit quiet on the forum lately so I thought that I might begin to post some of the smaller mods I've done that others might find useful for themselves. During the build-out of my truck it was often small, useful and easily undertaken mods shared by others here that gave me a sense of prog...

Re: Pinzgauer 710M Conversion - Build thread

I'd also suggest that you consider the ability to transition from the cab to your sleeping area without exiting the truck. Whether it be illness, bad weather, stealth camping, or some other unforeseen circumstance the value of having the ability to move directly from the driver's seat to the sleepin...

Re: Pinzgauer 710M Conversion - Build thread

There was a pivotal question that was asked of me in my design process that totally altered my original plan, and I'll pose it to you: What type of driving do you intend to do with this truck? Touring and exploring can potentially be very different types of driving. The Pinzgauer is not as tip-prone...

Re: Safe minimum voltage for start up

Good info, Ron. I had started with a similar chart and assessed 24V as my safe point, but thought there might be some folks here with more smarts and experience than myself who might weigh-in on the topic. Thanks for the feedback.

Safe minimum voltage for start up

I'm interested in setting my Victron low-voltage cut-off switch to the lowest voltage that I can expect the Pinz to always start up. The switch supplies power to all non-essential accessories (fridge, off-road lights, accessory outlets, etc.). I have 2 Optima D31Ms (blue top/marine) batteries instal...

I was only asking in general. I believe rdusek may have already contacted you directly regarding a few accessories that he's interested in.

Re: Fat Fabrications Western Service Tour 2023

Andre,

Will you be equipped to provide any accessory fabrication (bumpers, tire/fuel carriers, roof racks, etc.)?
