Cheap Milton tire guage!

http://www.1800cheaptools.com/milton-du ... 500-4.html

Shipping is $10, but the guage is only $3 and change, and Milton is a decent quality tool.

No affiliation, just passing it on.

Connecticut Swat truck?

Obviously the events in Newtown are horrendous beyond belief, and we are all, as a nation, trying to get through it. But I couldn't help noticing one of the first responder trucks. Does anybody know what it is? c4e32d75-a3e1-42fd-a1cc-7f6d3ada3eca_400.jpg ctstatepd_swat_vehicle_3.jpg 6f1c3498bb79448...

Re: Backup Camera choices.

Yup, that's exactly where I'll be moving ours to if I ever get a tablet for the dash. It'll bump the backup monitor up to where you have it.

(Hopefully we can keep it).

Re: Backup Camera choices.

A little about the, "out of sight", comment. One of the advantages of the Volvo over the Pinz is the center dash cover. I've attached all my gear to it using 3M heavy duty Velcro, so if I have to park it somewhere questionable, both radios and the backup camera screen all stow behind it in...

Re: Backup Camera choices.

It seems pretty robust, too, doesn't it? We took our truck to do some dirt road and sand pit playing and it worked really well. Had to back out of a couple dead end trails and it really came in handy.

With your magnet, you could stick it inside your spare tire, too.

Re: A hello frm donny

Funny you mentioned actually driving it! I finally said screw it, threw caution to the wind, took the plates off our family van, and took it for a ride. I've been out of work for so long now, we haven't had the money to register it, (which includes paying the 8% tax). So I've been just puttering aro...

Re: Backup Camera choices.

I'm sorry I haven't been back to contribute to this thread. Good install in the Pinz! I like how it looks on the dash. (You gonna trim those ears off that mount, I hope?) I LOVE the magnet idea, too. Wish I had thought of it before drilling holes in my truck. Does it move around on the bumps? Yes, t...

Re: A hello frm donny

Hey guys, I'm back. I appreciate the kind words, too, thanks. I hope we don't have to sell it. It's been my dream for a long time, but if it's a choice between keeping our house and food on the table, it'll have to go. Our plan was to convert it into a camper for this upcoming season, (which might b...

A hello frm donny

Hi folks. Donny wants me to drop in and tell you he's sorry he hasn't been around much to participate on the forum. He had another operation to remove another small section of his tumor and is recovering. He also wants me to give everyone a heads up that we might have to sell our tgb truck because o...

Re: Couple light switch questions.

Well, did a little Googling and found out that Automatic Lightning is the European forerunner of modern DRL, daytime running lights.

So I "think" the AUT switch is meant to be left on all the time, and the lights come on when the key's turned on?

Re: Couple light switch questions.

Yup. Dah. You're right! It says AUT, not AUX, sorry.

So how do I use it? Leave this switch on all the time and the lights come on only when the key's turned on? I don't get it. What's it used for? What scenario?

Thanks.

Re: Couple light switch questions.

What do you mean? You flip the switch and it powers an outlet or something that you plug into?

Couple light switch questions.

On my dash on the upper left is the headlight switch. To the right of that is an empty space with a blank cover. Next one over to the right says aux. It has a lock-out slider you have to slide down to turn it one.

It seems to do the same thing as the headlight switch. What's it for?
