Re: TGB 1314 Ambulance box lift height

Hello Jim,
without removing tank trim and taillights should be ca.30-40cm you need to lift it up.
A bit more does not harm

Re: Front axle not engaged?

There is another switch in the engineroom.
Left side of the kabine is the "brakepreasuredifferenceswitch".
Pull the cable off, turn the switch out (plastic) than in again, calbe on, ready.
Lie under the car. Best way to see and reach it.

Re: New portal gears for sale?

I did it :D
Should be the original ratio.
The big gear has 33 teeth. Same as original.
I found a picture of mine, when I changed wheel bearings.
The small one has 16 teeth. So gear ratio is 2.06 as original.

Re: Fuel types

The cylinderhead is cast iron. The reason for using high octan fuel is not the compression ratio rather the shape of the combustion chamber; it does not have the optimal shape. My experience using 95 Octan (RON) is not very good. Engine was ringing very bad running up hills with full throttle. If yo...

Re: Fuel types

The B30 in the Volvo TGB needs definitely a minimum of 97 Octane (RON in Europe), what should be about 92 Ocatane (PON in the US); if the Ignition is at 10 degree v. OT. To use lower octane gasoline you can take the ignition back to about 5-7 degree v. OT. But than you loose a little bit power. If t...

Looking at the prices I would go for a good used gearbox.

Re: 3rd gear grinding. Worn synchro?

...have you checked oil level ?
changed oil ?
If that does not help you have to change the synchronring.

For downshifting it will help reving it a little bit up while doublechlutching.
First you can try if its better resting a little bit longer in N if you change gears.

Re: Hello! New, buying C303, anything I should know [when I

...did TH send you a compression diagramm of the engine. Most of the C303 are running to fat; up to 11% CO. Maximum should be 3,5%. May be you should open the engine, to clean the engine inside und put some new pistonrings in. Depends on the wear of the cilinders. But if the compression is ok, that ...

Re: Hello! New, buying C303, anything I should know [when I

...as Vince says. But even then you can´t see all off the rusty parts. If you buy a steel body you first should do this: http://www.c303.de/c303-forum/index.php?board=1;action=display;threadid=11945;start=0 So I would prefer an aluzinc body. Without reckoning on the mileage. But anyway, there will b...

Re: Hello! New, buying C303, anything I should know [when I

...front springs are little bit to low. They need some work to bring them back in shape an a new paint and grease. It has the seldom and expensive 3 piece manifold with the watercooled aloy intake. TH also offers a alu/zinc C303, just 1700€ more. But here the front springs are dead. But you don´t ne...

Re: Removing rear side panels?

...if your sidepanels are waterproof now, I would not take them out. The sidepanel is fitted in with a rubberseal and sometimes glued in. You have to take care not to destroy the rubberseal, otherwise it will be difficult to get it waterproof again. There should be only some bolts at the downside yo...
