If I remember correctly (a big if), the part #7111763352A at SAV is enough for one front door. So 3 of those at 29.50 should do it with some left over. Sarah will know for sure. Paul Oh, cool. I thought that price was per meter, like the window channel. Much better. I'll give her a call.

It's all good. Off camera right is a McGruff and "Take a Bite Out of Crime" graphics. The rulers were PR give aways. I got ballons and keychains somewhere too.

Anyone know how much is needed to do a 712M? Need it for both doors, tops and bottoms, and the tailgate.

Todd: I almost thought that I had surfed onto "C.S.I. Wyoming" there for a minute! I began to think..."how could door weather-stripping possibly be involved in a crime scene..." First thing they drill into your head in crime scene photography is detail photos are useless w...

Re: weatherstrip

I looked up one of the old parts reference listings, besides the J.C. Whitney item it also listed; Weatherstrip, Door AVC4704 Weahterstrip, Door AVC4707 replaces AVC4704 http://www.crestnetsales.com/restore/weathers.htm Thomas E. - 712m (soon to be C amper) Sonora, CA This won't work. Miles, there is an oversize steel shaft available. My old shaft was brass and had visible wear. I used the oversize shaft and it took care of the slop. Apparently there is a throttle base version that was machined to accept seals. I think Denis at Linden Engineering was also machining bases to accep...

I learned that a wire brush attachment on a grinder does wonders de-fleshing one's hand.

When you first turn key on it should flicker. I still wasn't convinced mine was working so I ran it up in low range till it came on. It REALLY made a racket. I don't suspect you would ever see that RPM in normal use.

I'm in Ohio on a family visit this week. Don't know if we'll be able to make the event, but I really want to. I'm pretty certain I won't have the Pinz totally back together by then.

I'm also afraid that a Duece will follow me home.

I salivate on their site daily. They are having a big even in a couple weeks I would love to go to. It's about 6-8 hours away.

Way cool. Those Dueces make the Pinz look tiny. I have serious Duece envy.

I bought the muffler that EI has. Then I had a local shop run a pipe out the back. It sounds much better and has much less exhaust smell. The EI muffler bolted right in for me. It has a deeper tone, but is pretty quiet.

Washer pump replacement done

I made the $16 Haflinger pump from SAV work. You have to remove the chrome bezel and enlarge the hole. I also had to get a check valve to make it work. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y169/todds112/Picture001.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y169/todds112/Picture002.jpg The check valve is from ...

Possible weatherstrip replacement

Got a catalog from Steele Rubber Products. Item #70-0219-73 sure looks similar. I measured what I removed from the tailgate and the dimensions seem to match pretty close. Not sure if anyone else has tried this one yet.
