Re: What is the purpose of the center lamp on the dash?
The symbol on mine looks like a splined shaft with rotation arrows which is why I mentioned it reminded me of a PTO. Clearly I can use it for something else. My leftmost lamp has that rotating beacon symbol but it mostly opaque white with that the symbol being transparent--not amber It is on when th...

Re: What is the purpose of the center lamp on the dash?
Opened up the dash and was able to tell that this light is green not blue. Still no idea what it is for.

Re: Inverter generator in the ambulance dual Eberspächer compartment?
I've always thought the tire storage area on a amb would be a great place for a small generator on a slide out shelf. It'd be quieter pulled outside the box and no worries on exhaust etc. Of course you'd need to relocate the tire lol, but easier to mount a tire than a generator. Sent from my SM-G93...

Re: Four 6mm bolts near top of windshield?
What manual is that? I just have the betriebsanleitung.
Getting the spare in the roof would let me hang 4 Jerry cans from the hoiat arm im the spare compartment and about 14" of space below that for house batteries (like 4 Trojan T105s).

What is the purpose of the center lamp on the dash?
It is the middle of the nine indicators on the dash. I've never seen it light up but I believe it is blue. The symbol looks like a PTO. The betriebsanleitung calls it a "blinker indicating light for trailer operation" and says it is green. The color wiring diagram that's been posted in sev...

Re: LED cross-reference for various small bulbs
The one quirk with that solid state flasher is that it may false trigger the Flasher light even with the turn switch in the neutral position -- which is a nuisance but not a real problem. Not everyone had had this problem, I know of two cases, there may be more. See thread below. http://real4x4foru...

Re: Inverter generator in the ambulance dual Eberspächer compartment?
Scott, after the asbestos cleanup, noise/vibration concerns me the most. There is already access to fresh air, gas and an exhaust path. The generator would probably create much less heat that the dual Eberspächers. There was a company making a roof AC unit that could start on a honda eu2000i reliabl...

Re: Interior lights
Got me curious, so I looked SounoffSignal up on their WEB site. Looks like they have moved to all LED and 10V-30V. Apparently was available on Amazon, the P/N claims to be all LED. https://www.amazon.com/SoundOff-Signal-ECVDMLTAL00-Universal-White/dp/B00BEKZ2VM I saw Vince's G with the RED LED on, ...

Re: LED cross-reference for various small bulbs
I installed the Turkish solid state flasher from SAV and it runs great with all LED bulbs.
The AUTOGINE bulbs are nice and bright snd fit well (same length as incandescent).

Inverter generator in the ambulance dual Eberspächer compartment?
Has anyone fit a small inverter generator inside the ambulance dual Eberspächer compartment? Something with electric start and enough power to start a small rooftop AC? The generator would have to be stripped of the frame and gas tank of course. Mike PS: Are the ~1/4" white sheets under and beh...

Four 6mm bolts near top of windshield?
Does anyone know the original military purpose for the four 6mm bolts near the top of the windshield two on each side? The thin box metal is threaded with only a few threads and they don't seem very strong but they could be significantly stronger with either 6mm or 8mm rivnuts. I'm thinking of movin...

Re: LED cross-reference for various small bulbs
Im guessing I will have to leave one incandescent bulb on each side until I replace the flasher. I'm still putting together my next SAV order . . . Have a defective brake light switch and a few other things.
