Re: Another mystery part. What is it?
It is less than a couple of inches across. Appears to be a cover of some kind. I have no idea.

Are these interior lights the same across models?
Or are they only on the Austrian 710Ks?
I think they may be a standard Hella part (1357?) sans rubber band that is holding mine together, and possibly reasonably. Anyone have a source?
Thanks.

Another mystery part. What is it?
Found behind a seat. There is a little blue clear window.
Ideas?
Thanks.

Re: Blaster rust prevention spray
Not a rust prevention spray, but if you have a anything you can submerge, Evapo-rust (evaporust.com) is almost like magic. Non-toxic, non-acidic, not active on anything but rust, and won't burn your skin or anything else. Its reusable and effective much longer than you'd think, relatively cheap, and...

Re: Side Rail Replacement
I was not sure what a well-nut was Interesting and there are a lot that have higher failure specs http://www.thread-rite.com/pop_nuts/well_nut_standard.htm Nice find! I would paint them Thanks! Ya, they seem really resilient...and that is the website I was reading. I think I will paint the rails. T...

Re: Fire extinguisher placement
Not intentionally resurrecting an old thread, my Austrian K model came with a fire extinguisher bracket located behind the passenger seat next to the jack mount. The only trouble is the fire bottle needs to be about 4" in diameter (about 10cm). I have never been able to find one that fits exact...

Re: Shipping needed from Ca to Tx
Andre, if you strike out on getting someone free, I have had really good experiences uship.com. If you are flexible you can often get backhauled on uship.com very reasonably and often much quicker than traditional shippers. You could put a post up and see what happens, you don't have to accept any b...

Re: pdf manuals
Archive.org is often a way to mitigate a site overhaul.
But if there is any other resource for electronic books, maybe multi-language version that includes English? My manual vendor did not offer anything but paper.

Re: pdf manuals
Yes, I did search and see that post from 2009 but there was no information as to whether there was a recent offering or anything current in the link.
Thanks.
Thanks.

pdf manuals
I have a full set of paper manuals I purchased when I bought my 710K (Repair Manual, Parts Catalog, Operating Instructions). Does anyone know if there is a source for these in pdf form? English language would be the most helpful. Having an electronic set would actually be more useful than the paper ...

Redline Shockproof HD
I wanted to pass along a data point on Redline Shockproof HD in the wheel drives. I had some free time today and did a lube change on the 4 wheel drives with Redline Shockproof HD. I'd used their shockproof stuff in a couple of motorcycles in the past with surprisingly good results. I have to say I ...

engine cover
Anyone know why the arrangement of straps/metal frame (i.e. elbow pokers/Austrian ginsu) on an Austrian K model on the engine covers? I have seen a couple and they are all like this.
Seems a very odd bracket and strap arrangement, and I am curious if anyone knows why.

Re: Sourcing a set of tires
I can tell you about my experience getting a set of tires mounted (last week). The mechanic who safetied my truck had a tower lift so he could put an arm just above each wheel on the frame. The shop I had my tires installed only had hydraulic, centre piston lifts, which would not work, so he jacked...
