Hmm, I partially backed over my dog house or engine cover causing some major cracks to the front part of it. Anybody had success repairing these with bondo or fiberglass? SAV has a used one listed for $650. Didn't see any on EI. Any other sources?
Thanks!

I was considering possibly buying a G from the Florida guy. He has excellent Ebay feedback. What negative things have you heard? You can PM me if you'd prefer.

I haven't changed mine in a few years, but I don't many miles on it, and I'm using synthetic in all but the portals.

Re: A hello and introduction
Don't buy a Pinz to save money! But they are a lot of fun and way cooler than most 4x4s.

Re: Looking to get a Pinz
Umm, the original poster asked for a discussion comparing the merits of a Pinz vs Jeep.
None of the subsequent posts indicated that the Pinz was a horrible vehicle.
Perhaps you should read the original post...

Re: Looking to get a Pinz
Hey Kjbt, I'm in Alb, and you're welcome to drive mine. As a reality check, I bought mine north of Denver several years ago and drove it back. It was a very long drive... I don't think it would be an enjoyable drive for you and the family to travel from Jemez Springs to, say, Silverton in a Pinz. If...

Re: Exhaust smell
Not an uncommon problem with the Pinz. I've had the same issue. If yours has the stock muffler and tailpipe configuration, i.e., pipe exits in front of the rear wheel, that can be a potential source. First thing is to check for obvious exhaust leaks at heat exchanger, exhaust pipe connections, look ...

Re: UAZ 469
Yeah, I was curious about their capabilities, too. Like the looks of its predecessor, the GAZ69, but probably even more primitive.
See pics of them in use in many other parts of the world, so they must be somewhat durable and/or easy to repair.

Re: Exhaust removal tips?
Regarding muffler replacement, I just replaced one on my 710 with one from EI. I sprayed all the bolts and nuts a few times over a few day period with PB Blaster prior to starting on the removal. It came off relatively easily. I found that the heat shield above the muffler had a small hole in it fro...

Re: Speedo VDO Part#
If yours is not repairable, might consider a VDO electronic speedo as a cheaper replacement alternative. They're relatively easy to install and program, and are readily available from SAV.

That looks nice. No problem with exhaust fumes entering the back area?

Re: Exhaust System Leak
So if you have the stock EI muffler tailpipe configuration, any problems with exhaust fumes in the cab or back?
I was also considering taking it to a muffler shop and adding some pipe with appropriate bends to reroute the exit to the rear.

Re: Exhaust System Leak
Just ordered a muffler from EI. How are owners routing the exit tailpipe? Mine currently exits in front of the rear tire, which seems likely to contribute to exhaust fumes in the cab and back. Perhaps behind the rear tire with a slight turn down or out the back?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Exhaust System Leak
I thought I might upgrade to that flex kit, too, in the hope of eliminating other potential leaks, but read that depending on which vendor you purchase it from, there may be some fitment problems. Any comments on that?

Exhaust System Leak
In attempting to reduce the smell of exhaust fumes in the cab of my 710M, I found a small hole in the muffler and am thinking about trying an E.I. muffler. I can feel a relatively strong leak around where the individual header pipes are welded together, before they go into the two small pipes that g...
