Re: BMW motorcycle engine?!?

Keep in mind that the BMW engine in the NA Haflinger from the video is NOT a BWM motorcycle engine. It is from a BMW 700 automobile. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0lZB4i0mdA http://www.oldtimerteile.net/showgroup.php?id=22_BMW-700---Motor--Tafel-1-2- http://www.usautoparts.net/bmw/models/vintage/7...

Re: Hafy rings, valves and guides

Shawn, On the Yahoo Groups Haflinger forum, someone mentioned Haflinger Technik as a potential source for parts. There is no doubt that Dale Harrison is absolutely indispensible to the Haflinger community at large. I have placed many parts orders in the past and have always been pleased. I look forw...

Re: Hafy parts wanted

Shawn, From time to time, rear seat frames do materialize. Since the Swiss trucks were not originally equipped with rear seats, those items have become quite sought after. It is possible to fabricate folding rear seat frames from scratch and I do know of one owner who has mounted a folding stadium s...

Re: oil filter cross refrance for Halfy

Shawn, Of the Cartridge type, here are a few choices: Mann H 601 Mahle OX 42 NAPA 1314 NAPA has a new system where you can order the MANN filters directly from them. Some stores even stock them. For the spin-on type, two choices are: MANN W712 NAPA 1374 Hope this helps. By the way, the fourth annual...

Re: oil filter cross refrance for Halfy

Shawn,
Is your truck equipped with a later model spin-on filter or the more common cartridge-type filter?
Take care.

Re: Which one is original NA Pathfinder bumper?

I believe these were all just variants of the original equipment. The other thing to keep in mind that North American trucks were imported not only to the US but Canada and some of the later production run were diverted to Australia as well. The 1970 edition of the parts manual shows only one style ...

Re: Steyr-BMW Haflinger....

Shawn, Steyr-Puch actually fabricated a prototype flat four boxer for eventual use in Haflingers. I have seen one example in a museum display and one in a rare 6x6 Haflinger variant. As far as VW motors go, this have been done a handful of times. This is far from a simple bolt-in conversion. You wou...

Re: Steyr-BMW Haflinger....

Good morning to all, I took the liberty to forward the link to this tread to a couple of the Yahoo Groups Microcar forums. The only response thus far is that the motor is most likely from a BMW700. Those engines are 697cc and put out 32bhp @ 5000rpm and 32 ft.lb @ 3400rpm in standard trim (single ca...

Re: Opinion on hard cab model

Excluding your new truck, the orange Kommunal polycab and the camo tarped Haflinger, how many ohter trucks did you see? I know of several people who would be interested in polycab trucks and would be happy to point them his direction. Keep us informed as to how things go with your truck. Take care. ...

The truck looks very solid. What is the story on the orange Kommunal Haflinger peeking out in the background?
Congratulations!
