So basically just what the subject said, I bought a 718 and have to drive it 1200 miles home starting tomorrow. Just had the random thought of removing 2 wheels, probably the middle axle? So that it would be less friction, parasitic loss, etc. And give me 2 more spares. Is this an insane idea?

Well that's good to know! The one I'm purchasing has a bad parking brake, which seller says is easily obtainable and same as all pinz... That's not the case?

I've heard of guys switching the transfercase out to a 4x4 pinz for a little extra highway speed. Any benefit to doing this on a diesel?
