Go here for photos:

First few are the nicer body. Images after the garage photo are the rougher body, but fresh drive train. Both have canvas tops

Both are in detroit. 1968, left hand drive. None of my trucks see the road when in salt season. No rot.

Yup, both are titled. It will take me a bit for photos. They are packed away for the winter, but I may have a few photos from last year.

Re: WTB-mechanically sound 712

I could be convinced to sell mine out of detroit.

Define mechanically strong? Every pinz is going to need upkeep. I define mechanically strong as a true rebuild, and would expect upper $30k at least for such a unit

Re: Looking for a halflinger

I have two ex military units, and am willing to let one go. I have one in great shape physically, engine and transmission are strong. Paint is nice. Has a low howl in the front end that I'm guessing is a bearing (you can look up my posts on the subject) I have a second that the engine was rebuilt by...

Re: FOR SALE: 1987 Pinzgauer 718M

It's a really interesting story. Are people adding value to the former Delta trucks because of their interesting pedigree, I thought it was the opposite (genuinely curious)? otherwise this is the comp https://www.ebay.com/itm/1988-Pinzgauer-718-diesel-6x6-P80/264155975016?hash=item3d80ec4d68:g:eRAA...

Re: Closed cell foam for 712 m

I have had really good luck just using the surplus military wool blankets. They do a good job with insulating and when needed can be used or more specific applications. I currently have one in my Swiss G to help with the summer heat and help keep the flapping down when at highway speeds. Works well...

Re: Sudden poor performance

That sealed distributor cap will cause issues without a vacuum line pulling out the condensation. The previous owner probably had issues in water and rain (have a can of WD40 handy, and the allen wrench for the screws), so he used silicone to seal. Problem is that the atmosphere itself will cause co...

Ive always found the volume disappointing with the AVCOMM units. We run volume maxed, and its still relatively quiet. Wished there was a bit more gain

Re: Very dangerous winch mount

I have something similar, but very different in design. It utilizes the entire space surrounding the pin, sitting fully in the pocket, making contact on 3 sides. A 2" receiver sticks out. I had power to the front and rear of my 710, using those plastic quick disconnects from plow setups. I coul...

Re: All the...Small things....

Search the forum for brake pad linings. Its not the worst thing to be up against, and to be honest, pretty common. Its a wearable part. Get used to adjusting by the way. I tend to adjust once a year come spring. The wheel cyl leaks are common as well. I've always repaired with a simple seal kit. Eas...
