snow chains
Tony, We really need to take this to the chat forum as it is getting personal and has more Harley talk than Pinz talk. Jake, as she prefers to be called now (she dropped the Trixy part after the procedure), has informed me that now she has found out where you are she is leaving me. Aparently you wer...

snow chains
thanks jim, I will see if NAPA can supply. Tony, I have also seen them used by vertically challanged individuals to remove the dollar bills fastened to the ceiling at the Iron Door to augment their bar tabs. It is best done by first throwing a bar of soap into the room and offering to go in to remov...

snow chains
It is really great that the Swiss take such good care of their vehicles and leave the tools in them when they are sold. I was trying out the chains today and noticed that they do not fit my 255/16 mud terrain tires. Can't seem to get them over the lug pattern and of course they are too small to go a...

split boot
The pinz had a split boot on the left rear when I bought it. Aparently a repair was done (where?) and it was the most expedient fix. Seems to be holding up well and I have no worries mate. I should probably get one to keep as a spare in the event one of the originals goes. Have only done rocky off r...

tire balancing
I spoke with Myers Tire in San Diego, they are wholesale distributers and sell the balancing agent in very large amounts. They recommended that I try Parkhouse to get Equal for the tires.
Can I (should I) take the lead weights off if I use Equal?
Cheers, Morris

pinz clinic
I would really like to join up for a get together. I am in San Diego. I rode with Dave at Calico and shortly after that got my pinz from Scott at EI. If it is a weekend thing it would be great. I could always use pointers on the workings of the pinz. When you pick a date, please let me know. Cheers,...

picture quality
I would like to post a pic of my pinz adjacent to the posting but am not a wizzard on the PC, can anyone give me a pointer how to do this. I am so glad the list is back up, really helpful info from all of the people on the list.
Thank you Vince.

wheel/tire balancing
Is anyone using the 'beads' in their tires for balancing? I was researching the Pinz archives for the adapter to convert to hub centric and not lug centric for balancing. At $82 it seems pricy. Is periodic balancing a necessity for roadability on surface streets? I thought if I used the beads, balan...

WINCH MOUNT
Recently have seen the 'nose ring' mount on the Swiss Army Vehicle site.
Also recall the 'Knuckle Down' site showing one, but they may have changed hands to another company.

LED lights
When I answered the previous time it was for LED lights question. I would highly recommend the taillight conversion for the pinz that actually changes the internals to have the red light become the stop light and the amber the turn signals. Got my kit from Expedition Imports in CA. Look them up on t...

LED lights
I got mine locally at a place called LIGHTHOUSE. Try LIGHTBRITE.COM, XTREMEWHITE.COM, MANUFACTURERS.COM or just go to 'ASK JEEVES" and enter locations for LED lights in your area. Run them in series with your OEM lights as they are really low drain and your electrical system may not recognise t...

I am relatively new to maintenance on the pinz. I have just completed the tail light conversion to add brake lights to the red lens. Success! Phil has given me the lowdown on installing an intermittent wiper switch and that is for tomorrow. The next adventure is setting the valve clearance. I have a...
