Re: Lots of cheap heaters popping up
Ah yes- rig up all the nice plastic "MADE IN CHINA" stuff you can to your specialized Austrian truck- what a brilliant- and quintesentially American thing to do. I'll be waiting for the "So my Pinzgauer burned down but I don't know why..." post. I don't understand the mindless m...

Re: VW Jetronic mechanical fuel injection swap
Very cool project! Ive always been interested in the FI setups but have never been willing to trust power converters to run something so critical. To get 12v to power steering...fine...it reverts to manual if a failure occurs, but I cant get over the hump on trusting the engine to one. Thats why you...

Re: Gas heater debug

Pull switch to 2nd position - light on dash goes OUT, fuel pump starts pumping to pressure level (the pulsating clicks you hear) and the igniter is powered. When the heater fires up, the light on the dash turns B...

I live in chattanooga and even here there are 50 trailheads within 30 miles. If you dont want or need to be city ce...

Re: Disc brake conversion
So I called jegs and summit to see what type of steel their 1/4" caliper brackets were made from, I was told they were a36. One rep even pointed out how common cast iron brackets were on new muscle type cars. After the fab shops recommendation and seeing national chains selling that type for fu...

Re: Disc brake conversion
Well I'm glad you posted. It is A36, I went to a local race car shop and they said that's what they use for steel caliper brackets (when not using aluminum). They said it is the bolts that break and to make sure I used appropriate grade. I was aware of the bolts as it states their grades in the inst...

Re: Disc brake conversion
I'm working on getting some rotors duplicated so I can have replacement parts when needed since the endeavor has been abandoned. With the exception of the rotors and adapter plates, everything thing else is an off the shelf part...even the pinz wheel spacers from the kit. I also had my plates cmm'ed...

Has anyone had any luck ordering anything on his site and received it in the last 6 months or so? I need some rotors.

https://www.autonews.com/article/20160215/RETAIL05/302159993/tool-company-works-with-dealers-to-provide-freebies-to-techs A write up on the company. I really like their sonic foam system.....that's what peaked my interest in them. 2 tone color so you can easily see what's out. Might bring some organ...
