Re: That alternating harmonic of the drivetrain

from what I have seen it is a combination of a couple things. The driveshaft was not balanced as well as you would think, in most cases just a piece of metal welded at a point determined by a rough balancing system. the compounding issue is the carrier bearings getting a little sloppy form wear. the...

https://expedition-imports.com/PZLENSE not all that bad considering you will only replace them once in the ownership of the truck.

Re: Smart Car Seats

for heat shield I am fortunate enough to still have some lead sheet. I use it a lot to keep sparks and heat away from things I don't want to get too hot. It is very moldable and real easy to form into any shape I need. even make it fit between material and supports when needed. works better then my ...

Re: Smart Car Seats

personally I mount mine with the frame only. never understand the idea of keeping the sliders and sitting a couple inches higher. with seat backs that actually lean forward and as small as the cab is in a pinz there really is no need to slide seat forward and back. I want the seat pan of the "d...

Re: Four 6mm bolts near top of windshield?

as you can see we carried the supports down to the hinge bolts and secured the rack at the top with the four bolts then land on the antenna mount. Have seen photos with spare tires on this rack along with a rack that was purposely built to carry the spare tire.

Re: Four 6mm bolts near top of windshield?

actually if you check your manuals you will see that there was an optional roof rack available. I built one using the same mounting points. I copied the design that was in the book as close as I could. worked very well.

Re: Ignition Timing

in the early models the SSI had a switch for on road and off road. you could advance it manually a little. not many used the option and it just made the system a little more complicated for little gain. I just run mine slightly advanced all the time and get a little better performance.

Re: Fuso

Talked to earthcruiser at the expo. If you provide the truck, they will do the conversion for an average cost of $250k. Lots of videos on YouTube of the fuso out and about. If you are looking for a rock crawler these are not the rig. We took one over Montana mountain in the snow and that was about a...

Re: Fuso

These things get a crazy makeover. the insides are just fabulous. Once the doors are closed you forget you are in an offroad rig. There will be several floor plans at the overland expo. Fair warning, just don't look at the price tag.

That is the ones. Rebuilt them several times before realizing I was wasting my time and money. Soured me on buying any doestch shocks ever again.
