Those bolts are at 250 ft lbs torque and have blue loctite on them.
you need to lock the flywheel and use a breaker bar to get them off. Call me and I'll give you a quick run down on short cuts :wink:

It depends on what state you reside in :roll: In California 1974 and older applies, and as far as I know TD,s can only be registered for off road use.

SAV has a top end kit for around $1650 last time I looked, I highly recomend this set-up as it includes cylinders 8)

There are a few things that can cause backfiring through the carb, Most obvious would be water in the distributer cap or on points(dry and wipe down with WD-40). Also check the timing, low float level in carb(lean pop), broken vac lines causing a vac leak. Could also be a tight or burnt intake valve...
