Re: New guy calling, about to grab my first c303....some Q's

It seems that most of your questions were answered, but I can tell you that the Volvo TGB11/C303 does a better job at maintaining freeway speeds than the Pinzgauer 710 series. My Volvo has been converted to fuel injection by Jim LaGuardia (a well-known Pinzgauer specialist here in CA) and now it has...

Re: modular roll cage

I had the same thought about rollover safety and on my Swiss military Haflinger, I had a rollcage fabricated that was intended to resemble that of a Pinzgauer. At the same time, since I am 6'3" tall, I had the front window frame enlarged so that the height of both the window and rollcage is inc...

You might ask Dennis at Linden Engineering. He should know.

Re: Intro from Malaysia - WR7002 - C304

Sorry to hear about your health problems--those tropical diseases can be quite nasty. I hope you get better soon so you can look forward to enjoying life and your truck. I enjoy your comments and pictures very much and look forward to seeing how your truck turns out.

Cheers,
Greg

Re: Need brake and voltage regulator advice

If that were true, he would never admit it. SDP has a leash with a choke collar on him to keep him in line. Stefan, if he is still alive, probably would drool to hold that leash. Sorry, Jim--I couldn't resist the reference to our favorite "party" man. You know what I mean. :twisted...

That is why I have Jim work on the truck and I work on people.

Re: Teaser pics - Tgb11 w/new engine!

Actually, the guru working on my truck is not Dennis, but rather Jim LaGuardia. He has been mapping with the newest chip under varied conditions. It is running much smoother, but the intent is to optimize everything, so there probably is at least one more modified chip in the near future. Once that ...

Re: C303 engine removal/rebuild

Yesterday, while touring the LaGuardia Proving Grounds, I had the opportunity to take the "Beast" for a spin. After the various modifications that have been done, it sounds and drives much healthier. Clearly the engine work has given the Beast a new lease on life. The chip being used curre...

Re: Crawler vs 1st gear

I have started in either 1st or 2nd gear depending on circumstances. I don't recall the gearing differences between the crawler and 1st gears and which models had the crawler, though I know that not all models had the crawler. One of the other people such as Jim LaGuardia, Jim Molloy, or Constantine...

Re: Max height to fit in a Hafi?

I am 75" tall and I can manage in both of my Haflingers. My Swiss Haflinger had a rusted window frame that needed to be corrected--when I did that, I had it made taller with a custom glass windshield that makes me very comfortable. I was able to manage with the original, but I find that my fiel...
