Re: Can You Hand Crank A Pinz Gasoline Engine?
Access would be a big problem on a Pinz. Hmm... Looking at photos online that show a 710 in direct side profile, the distance from the grill opening to the engine inside the cab does indeed look like quite a reach. However, a hand crank with a properly long length would immediately overcome this pr...

Can You Hand Crank A Pinz Gasoline Engine?
I've noticed that many old school air cooled engines came from their respective factories equipped with provisions for hand cranked emergency starts, everything from Volkwagen flat fours to Citroen flat twins to Tatra V12 diesels (yes, really!); further, even many liquid cooled engines up until abou...

Proposed 1k fine for vehicles over 20 years old in Oregon
http://koin.com/2017/02/10/speaker-k...x-plan-is-doa/ Despite what is being publicized this is not dead yet. It can be resurrected with no notice at any point of the legislative season, so I encourage everyone to stay vigilant. It can also be repackaged in a new bill with new name and number. Also,...

How Much Does The Air Cooled Engine Weigh?
Including alternator, starter, cooling assembly, fluids, etc, but not including the transmission. Anyone know the air cooled engine's weight?

Aircooled Pinzgauer "Crate Engine"
Odd question, but can one purchase a complete Pinzy 710 or 712 "crate engine" from the factory, or maybe from Expedition Imports or someone else? Seems likely to me an entire truck would have to be bought to get the engine inside, but...maybe not, somehow?

Which Brands Make The Best Quality Points Ignition Parts?
Which brands make the best quality points ignition components? Points, condenser, everything. I don't necessarily reject Chinese manufactured parts, but I do necessarily reject crappy quality. I don't want to use electronic ignition on my Type 4 engine anymore. The bus isn't a daily driver, so I'm n...

Re: 2.7 Liter Engine w/ Torque Cam?
Give it a month or 2 and I will have mine and will report back! Alright, TechMOGogy, it's been well over a month or two. So let's hear a review, sir. Still a work in progress so I can't report yet. Adding Scotts PS kit so that delayed completion Sorry! TechMo, have you got your rig right, yet? What...

This is standard practice. American LR importers have had this headache for years.

Pinz 4x4 Driving on Narrow European Roads?
Do you lads in Europe ever find it difficult to maneuver your Pinzies along Europe's narrow, winding roads? I know the 710 has a narrow width and short wheelbase, but some of those streets you have in Europe are so tight we'd refer to them as pedestrian sidewalks here in much of the USA. A roadtrip ...

Re: 2.7 Liter Engine w/ Torque Cam?
I have 2.7L + EFI and getting 120hp+ on the Dyno. The real reason for this conversion in the first place was the need for 60+ MPH on the HWY -- but NOT just by running the engine at higher RPM which would not be a good idea. The upgrade also required a gear ratio change, moving to the TD tranie (4'...

Still started off in second gear even with the 710 transfer case in the 712.
Thanks for this little review!
