Re: How High Have You Driven Your Pinz?

All you Colorado lads, have you experienced a lot of vapor lock in summer heat at Rocky Mtn elevations?

And how much better is Jim's 2.7 big bore engine w/ torque cam at elevation than the standard 2.5?

Re: How High Have You Driven Your Pinz?

The highest I have driven my Pinz was over Independence Pass in Colorado - 12,095 feet (3686 meters) and it did ok - but I was jetted for Denver at the time (5000 feet). One the way back to Washington State (sea level) I changed the carb jets out once I was about to leave from Utah. Including havin...

How High Have You Driven Your Pinz?

What's the highest elevation you lads have driven your Pinzies, and how did they perform? I'm becoming concerned that a search to find a couple of proper P80 turbodiesels to import into America may not be fruitful (only made from '86-'89/'90), and I may have to "settle" for a couple of gas...

Re: LED Headlights randomly going out

As usual the lads on this forum are chock full of tremendously helpful tech info. I thought I knew about LEDs--turns out I hardly knew what I thought I knew. So if a Pinz wiring loom was completely new front to back (as in a complete truck restoration), from relays to breaker box, is there any fores...

Re: Your Face Is Ugly

If you fitted the larger P93 Shroud to a P80 or P90 so you could fit a functional intercooler you would need to make substantial modifications. Read my mind there, didn' you Prof? Now could you kindly please give your opinion on my question posted here? http://real4x4forums.com/PinzgauerBBS/...

Pinzgauer Turbo Diesel Altitude Performance

How flexible are the P80, 90, and 93 engines at altitude? The turbo will of course help to mitigate power loss, but the engine will still become overfueled and hot the higher the elevation, right? It seems like having to go through all the trouble of removing the engine shroud to reach the fuel scre...

Re: Your Face Is Ugly

The engine bay is the same on all of them. The changes and extension of the shroud is from the radiator on the P90 being larger and in front of the tunnel . The P80 radiator is in the tunnel. The P93 has the innercooler mounted in front of the radiator. Very helpful, David. Thanks! So, theoreticall...

Your Face Is Ugly

How much "better" is the performance of the P90-93 than the P80? I rather prefer the P80's face. Is there any way to intercool a P80 without resorting to the P90-93's ugly nose?

Yes, I do realize putting stock in a Pinzy's visual nuances is utterly ludicrous.

Simply gorgeous videography! Perfectly paced slow pans, beautiful sepia color grade. Soundtrack matches the editing pace in every way.

Petrolicious Should Have Done This With A Pinz

Old Defender 90s are cool, especially stripped out like this example. But if Petrolicious had found a Pinz for this shoot it would be even mo betta. Still, the spirit of the video and the spirit of the 90 are exactly the spirit of a Pinzy. And I'm sure all you lads have such a gorgeous traveling par...
