Well... I have one of these: http://www.broncograveyard.com/bronco/i-20216_33_gallon_tank__1978_-_79_plastic.htm a 33 gallon tank for a Bronco. I'm going to build it into a box and bolt it inside the bed for long-range trips. I have in in-tank fuel pump along with a dual tank fuel switch. All waitin...

I'd say, given your criteria, go with the system Jim is putting together. I have heard rumors of other vendors having systems, but I have never seen one. There is a pretty steep EFI learning curve, and there are numerous ways to go wrong (up to and including burning down your truck). Letting someone...

MegaSquirt will also work with quad throttle bodies. I'm adapting a motorcycle quad throttle body with MegaSquirt. All I have left to do is bend some pipe and fabricate flanges for the intake to the heads. I had posted some pictures of my prototype setup on the board before it got hacked. People use...

Mike, I'm using the setup Ron described. The Solar Equalizer has three wires: Ground, +24 V and +12 V. The innards of the equalizer push electrons back and forth between the +12 and +24 connections to keep the +12 at exactly 1/2 the +24. So the Solar Converter automagically charges the battery conne...

Phil,

I like the rope dangling in front. Is that so your wife can hang you when she finds out how much the project costs? :D

My rear mounted winch is 12 V. See my install at: http://home.comcast.net/~hillmanpinz/ You do need some sort of battery feed to the winch. I suppose in theory you could tie the winch to the "lower" Pinz battery, then rely on the equalizer to get the batteries back in balance after you are...

This type of winch mount has been discussed before. It is not without controversy. I recall that the biggest concern was the torque on the pintle area that would be caused by an off-axis pull. It could bend things up pretty bad. Others argued that a winch should be more solidly mounted overall. I do...
