Re: Misc Carbs questions
Thank you Albert for your response. I opened the shaft ends and found only remnants of them on one throttle body, none on the other. From what I can see, it seems they were installed with flat side facing the throttle plate. I want to confirm that it is suppose to be facing away from the throttle pl...

Misc Carbs questions
Found out my rear carb was had loose base screws so I decided to attempt a rebuild/repair since the pinz came with the kit. But had a few questions. 1. Have been looking to figure out what is the correct float height. This is what I found front and rear., same height. I believe the manual mentions 1...
Re: Pinzi SSI
Is there a different spark plug gap for SSI System? Mine came with one, installed in 2015. Unsure which version. When I checked the gaps they were 0.035. Manual I believe mentioned 0.032.

Re: *not mine* nice 1973 712M 19K miles in AZ
Also DMV and CARB are two totally separate entity. DMV may be ok with it, and then later (in terms of years) CARB catches up and causes headache. In the end, it's up to you if the risk of headache is worth it. I tried using one of the DMV partner Rmel mentioned but was unable to transfer an out of s...

Re: Is this called a Banjo bolt?
I did try using a flare nut wrench but they are just too long to use within the space it is in. I may have to buy a claw foot wrench with the flare nut opening for this.
Can we use silicone tape or similar to prevent leaks like that?

Re: *not mine* nice 1973 712M 19K miles in AZ
Per Scott at EI, CARB made a revision for years younger than 72 (73, 74 and up) may need extra testing that is available but only in Santa Monica area. As such the cost for such test needs to be taken into consideration before purchasing one to CA. Heard stories people getting away with it here and ...

Re: Is this called a Banjo bolt?
It took a lot of force to remove the banjobolts, I had to use an impact wrench which made it quite easy to remove. Rebuilt the locker cylinders and put them back together. Works fine now but it is leaking somewhere, either from the banjo bolt connection or the steel brake line connection. I tried ti...

Re: cylinder cup and seal
I ended up using a screwdriver to push the cylinder out using a mallet. I had to remove the banjo bolts in order to do this. It will ruin the metal end piece but if you are planning to rebuild it as I did you will replace it anyway. I don't think it ruined anything and less messy than grease option....

Re: cylinder cup and seal
I take it I have to release the banjo bolts for the grease gun to fit? Or can I do it from the reservoir opening? What's the best way to remove the grease afterwards? Any contraindication to hone the cylinders? Mine seem to get stuck right at the opening. I am hoping a fine sand paper would smooth i...

Re: Is this called a Banjo bolt?
Anyone know torque spec for the banjo bolts on the master and slave cylinder of the lockers? Also, it seems the 2 copper crush washers on either side of the bolt seem to be of different size, at least different part number on SAV. Master and slave cylinder. One of them seem to not be available. Is i...

Can you put the seal in from the other end instead of the white plastic cup end?

Re: Fan Nut Threading
Should be normal threaded. If you look at the fan blades and how it should rotate, it is clockwise rotation when viewed from the front.

Re: Exhaust re-do
Its probably inexprience but man that was kind of a pain in the butt, installing the headers on down by myself. Learned it is easier to remove the hangers for the HE, attached it to the HE prior to bolting on to chassis. How much play is it suppose to have, the whole system once bolted in? I see the...

Re: Turn signal switch smoking
Anyone has the austrian wiring schematics? or atleast wiring schematics for their turn signal switch? I'm trying to understand what is lost when converting to the 5 wire austrian turn signal switch. I understand there are three wires left after connecting the same colored ones of the swiss switch. O...
