Re: Trick to removing taillight lens?
I've seen people use the pink wire for brake light rather than the orange wire. I think SAV instruction also uses the pink wire. Maybe more than one way to skin a cat. Seems to me using the orange wire is much more straight forward but if you disconnect WHT from 49b, don't you loose rear hazard ligh...

Re: Exhaust re-do
I screwed up the threads on that stud so it will need to come off. Will work with some heat and this stud removal chuck tool looking thing. Here is to hoping not shearing the bolt off. Thanks for the pointers Rmel. DOes it matter which way I insert the stud, looks a little different from what I pull...

Re: Exhaust re-do
Excellent write up and super helpful McCallPInz. Thank you. I started thinking I was just going to replace the muffler, but ended up replacing the HE along with removing the header for the flex kit upgrade. I removed all of the header studs except one. now I'm struggling to remove the lone stud in p...

Re: Turn signal switch smoking
I ended up with the non led cheeseburger style lights and a new switch. It is cheaper, and ultimately I think I want the speaker 265, just got to wait until they come up again and on sale. It's out of stock on headlight revolution.
Thanks for the input guys.

Re: Turn signal switch smoking
It is not stock but I think the looks really fits the truck. Boxy truck with boxy lights, also functional.
DJW, You should do it soon, and document it so I can follow someone else's lead. Take pictures too if you can.

Re: Turn signal switch smoking
You're right. That made my day. Thanks. I just ran into threads about the JW speaker 265 and now I'm contemplating them. Because they have separate turn and brake lights I assume that supports the purchase of the Austrian switch also? I need to research more to make sure that install is not too hard...

Re: Turn signal switch smoking
Thank you Paul. I think I will try the austrian t/s switch with the cheeseburger lights with led bulbs. I think it will give more time appropriate look. Is there another place to get the Austrian switch? You mentioned they are cheaper but from where I can see, they are 177 on SAV, and the VW bus swi...

Re: Turn signal switch smoking
That cheeseburger light does not look too bad. And can you still use the swiss turnlight switch or have to use austrian type? At this point I feel more secure with a red brake light as drivers in CA are bad enough already. I don't want to get rear ended because they do not recognize yellow brake lig...

Re: Turn signal switch smoking
Tried fixing a connection on my turn signal switch. Fixed the brake lights, BUT shorted something else out (specifically when I press on the brakes and use the left turn signal), causing #11 and 12 breaker to pop. So I may have to buy a new turn signal switch. None was available at EI or SAV, except...

Re: 24V System Charging Help
Aside from driving the pinz regularly, what is the best way to keep it charged? A 24 v tender, connected to the battery in series, in the truck? 2 12v tender connected individually to each battery out of the truck vs in the truck? A 12 V tender connected to the batteries out of the truck connected i...

Re: 710K map-reading lamps
Nevermind. I just realized the door switches are in parallel because it only requires one door to open to complete the blue light circuit, and in the process, disrupt the white and articulating lights circuit.

Re: 710K map-reading lamps
I think it is 57, the blue rotating light. Which has blue wires. I traced it last night and found both wires connected at the relay as shown in the diagram. The connection looks good but the plastic cover was quite fragile, I broke them off trying to pull the spade connectors off. Given one is worki...

Re: 710K map-reading lamps
I have a pull switch near the right side articulating lamp to activate the lights in general and another pull switch above the rear door to activate just the rear white/blue lamp. I realized the color wiring schematic I found here is for an M. Anyone know where I can find one for a swiss K? Whitesik...
