I have gone with this electronic roll-over switch: http://www.radshark.com/tipoff-rollover-switch.html. The unit will turn off the fuel pump circuit when tip angle exceeds 60 degrees (I had a custom unit made for a grand total of $55.00 incl. shipping). It resets itself after 4 seconds when the vehicle tilt is less than the critical angle. Yes, it operates on +12VDC, but a simple converter to drop from 24 volts works.

The website says it is not for "extreme" maneuvers" but anything over about 45 degrees in a Pinz is extreme to the point of being on its side. That's why the 60 degree sensor. Is my logic in error?

An oil pressure cut-off switch is also a good thing to add.

So they made your a custom switch?
60 may be a bit much but once you go past 45 it does not really matter as your flopping on your side regardless. Having it above 45 is smart as you don't want to be at 45 and get your fuel cut - that could be very dangerous!

You are assuming a rollover....
More times than not, you'll need an inertia switch for that abrupt removal of forward or change of momentum...aka you just rear ended a $80k Mercedes because you weren't paying attention and your brakes haven't been maintain properly... OR you were broad sided by the Mercedes because they didn't notice the light had change.

Clark's Corvair carries both an Oil Pressure Switch and an Inertia Switch for use with their electric fuel pump (for Corvairs obviously):

Click on the part number to get an idea of the prices.

These are for 12V but give you an idea of what's available anyway.

I think that inertia switch might work on 24vdc as well as 12vdc... I think it is a completely mechanical design - just a steel ball with a magnet that trips a switch.

Actually, on a more serious note, here's the inertia switch I intend to install- https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/produ ... p?RecID=87

That's the same one that came with my electric fuel pump kit for the Corvair. Seems to be well made.

Inertia switch for impact. Roll-over switch for the inevitable oops. Oil pressure switch for a stalled engine. Push-button to prime the carbs. Toggle switch to bypass them all just in case...

Add a hidden toggle switch to the circuit so the thief doesn't make it to the end of the block. :)

This is how the engine starts after sitting for 2 weeks without the choke used. You can hear the electric fuel pump turn on, then when it slows down the gas is pumped once and the engine is started. It idles without giving it any gas, and never stalls- but does stumble very slightly for a few seconds. No hesitation on the road, either.

I'm guessing it is a K&N type filter, yes?

I purposely ran the Pinzgauer out of gas yesterday to see if the electric fuel pump would draw from the lowest point in the tank, I was on a rural road. The tank was dry. The gas can was full, so I dumped that in and let the pump build up pressure, and it fired right up. No worries!
