accelerator pump failure?

while trying to sync my carbs i noticed the front carb was no longer getting fuel, i have had this problem before, the accelerator pump came apart inside the carb, i replaced both with new parts from swiss army vehicles, one of which has failed again. is this a common occurrence, is it just poor design? I would hate to have to keep replacing these every year.
would like to know if anyone else has this problem, thanks

This probably doesn't help much but I've never had one fail. I have had a couple wear somewhat so they no longer pump as well. Try reaching our to Jim LaGuardia for some ideas.

what would be the main job of the accelerator pump in the carb ?? im having trouble on sudden-quick press on the gas pedal the truck DIES! , but accelerates fine on progressive press on the gas pedal .. i was thinking on the carbs pumps

And you now know 1st hand what the accelerator pump is for.

During quick acceleration, the carb's suction lags far behind the engines demand for fuel. The pump is a mechanical method to meet that demand

I think that ethanol eats up the rubber plunger seal. That part is shown here- http://www.pinzgauer.com/showdetails.ph ... 122085120/
You only need the rubber part, I don't see that listed separately. Call them and see if they have just that part. Installation is easy.
