We put in a new SAV hand throttle, from the pictures the EI is the same one. After we got it in, we didn't hook it up to the plate below yet, but we pushed down on the gas pedal and the larger brass nipple interfered and the gas pedal wouldn't go down.
I asked SAV and they said they put these in successfully all the time. Why did we think we had a problem and cut part of the brass nipple off to clear the interference? Wonder if it would have cleared had we hooked up the hand throttle to the plate first, which would require the plate rotating upward some to get the throttle wire in enough to fasten the screw nipple on the end of the wire?
Here's a picture of the new and old, old is much smaller diameter. The new one in the picture is after we cut off part of the brass nipple to clear the plate below. Also a picture of the plate below.
