Tropical type v standard

Post by JimmyC »

Is there any difference between the standard and tropical motor other than the jets in the carb? Mine is jetted "tropical". Is one or the other preferred?

There are also 2 different choke plates (#01-40-37). One has more/larger holes in it for more fuel delivery and is more suited to northern/cold climates. The plate is stamped with a "2". The other provides much less fuel and is for warmer climates. This plate is stamped "6".
