So i have decided that im going to have a garage do my clutch, i just dont have the time or the tools. What should i expect to pay for this job. If anyone can give a ruff estimate that would be nice, i just dont wanna get screwed.
yes, plus $500 for parts
maybe a hundred for machine shop
and the unexpected... better have about $1200 on hand to bring it in.
so, is there a good Pinz mechanic in Pittsburgh?

You can have the pad relined for around $160. First time it was rebuilt Dennis did it Just to be safe. Than I wore the pad out, learning how to off road. Needless to say you shouldn't ride the clutch.
I used a clutch set for a BMW and I got it at Auto Zone when I did my K years ago. Obviously the TO bering was wrong, but the disc and p-plate were identical to the original and were the same manufacturers name(forget the name). Around $250 at the time and included a lifetime warrantee...(Eric?)

Warrantee on stupidity? Isn't there something morally wrong with doing a warranty claim when you new you screwed it up? Oh never mind Daves girl friend is running things now! ethics have left the building.
And no nether shop mentioned warrantee. Maybe they new better!
Buy the bits and do it yourself. Its a very easy job and no special tools involved (though a clutch alignment tool makes life easier). You'll have it done in a couple of hours...
Clutch change was the first significant job I'd done on my Pinz and I was really impressed how easy it was.
It aint what you drive, its the way that you drive it...
I rummaged through my mechanic friend's collection of alignment tools and
found one that worked for me. It is marked "GM 10". Just Google it - there
are lots of places to get it.
