Front axle and Locker Engagement

Post by ExpeditionImports »

This might end up in the technical section but we are doing some rearranging and sorting in the warehouse with containers of parts and trucks coming in and dug this out of a crate. Even though it has been a while since we moved still have not found everything. In case you don't recognize since a lot of material has been removed, it is the mechanism to engaging the front axle and the lockers. If we get some time and can clean it up we will do a tech video.

Cheers,

Scott

Thanks Scott - Great photos to have. A video would be very helpful as well.

Very nice to have your support!

Great idea for a video. Cool visual aid.

I'd think it would be especially helpful to be able to see how the locker lever can be depressed, thus spring loading the locker mechanism to engage when the gears mesh. That explains why the indicator lights don't illuminate until the locker mechanism actually locks.

Another helpful aspect would be to give an idea of how and why a locker lever gets basically "hydro-locked" when you've lifted the lever but the locker mechanism hasn't actually unlocked and then you try to again drop that lever.
