Front locker seal

Post by ScottD »

So my front diff has had a pretty severe leak into the torque tube since I got it. The oil level in the diff would drop rapidly until the torque tube would finally fill up to a level high enough that the diff would stop draining. I drove it this way last year and just kept an eye on the level thinking that I would take it off the road and get it repaired this winter. It’s repaired and all put back together now so I thought I would share some pictures from the surgery. If you look at the picture of the seal itself, the damage is pretty obvious. It wasn’t damaged when it was removed, it was that way before it was removed. No wonder it leaked so much. Also had some cracked steering bushings. Everything else looked fine.
