Clutch not disengaging

Post by Jbird »

Hello. Ive been really having a lot of fun with my 710M for a year now. Today i had the truck take off at an intersection while I had the clutch pedal down. I got home and the reservoir was full and i shined a light on the backside and see no fluid leak. I bled the system using the method in the manual at the slave cylinder. Got lots of dirty fluid in the process which i assume is rotten seal particles. Which usually craps out first ,the master or the slave cylinder on the clutch? The master appears to be fairly new looking with the newer line set up i believe.

I went ahead and ordered both repair kits from Expedition Imports.

I had a similar problem recently. I did both the Master and the slave. It was the Master that really needed it. When I got inside, it looked it may have been the original parts from 1974!

There is a rubber hose close to the slave cylinder. When you redo both cylinders , replace that part , too.
It saves you the hassle of bleeding the system again; usually the hose gets brittle by the time the seals in the cylinders wear out.
