Speedometer linkage leak

Hi there,

Happy New Year for all fellow Pinzgauer drivers, wishing you all many safe kilometers or miles in 2023 !

I have a leak at the speedometer linkage and have new washers and seals for it.

I can detach the cable by screwing off the ribbed cap but cannot get the next part off.
When i turn anti clockwise with a 22mm spanner I can only turn half a turn and then it blocks...

Any ideas or suggestions ?

Thanks.

From the Pinz 710/712 handbook,
sorry it's in french but the steps are few only
on step 3, they say to remove a pin (part 5 on drawing)
that appears the only stpe blocking you from removing the gear
hope this helps,

Super easy fix. In English. If you haven't already done this and finished the repair ... Just disconnect the speedo gear. Note: there's a little pin that you push through to disconnect it. Carefully, very carefully, pull the cable off. There's a little connector and if you drop it inside, you will have a whole other problem. Then slide out the speedo gear shaft. About 3/4 the way down the shaft is an o-ring. Replace that o-ring and your leaks should go away. When replacing the shaft, be careful not to drop anything in the hole.
