How can i tell if i have a high speed transmission?

I was told it had one, but I want to make sure. The car sounds like its screaming at 60 mph and it takes quite a bit to get there.

1st gear to 10mph
2nd gear to 20
3rd gear to 30-35
4th gear to 40-45
5th gear to 45-60

I have never seen my 4500 light come on and it sure "sounds" like im reving VERY high at the top ends. This is my first air cooled engine. Do they normally sound like they are reving much higher than they are?

Post a picture of the trans, include a shot of the shift tower and I'll Id it for you. If it's screaming at 60mph, it is most likely stock.
