O.k. so i removed the clutch slave and the starter went in just fine but when i put it all back together the clutch wasn't engaging very well or not at all. My question is do i need to readjust the clutch now that i have removed and reinstalled the slave? what could cause the clutch to be not working thank you very much

No, it should be fine if you reassembled it properly.
Silly question, but did you correctly relocate the clutch rod back in the slave when you reinstalled it???

When you grab the clutch fork does it wiggle or is it solid. Other than that try bleeding the system and checking for leaks in the system.

Remove the transmission cover in the bed of the truck. On the top of the bell housing you will see a removeable plate held in place by 2-10 mm nuts. Remove that plate. Watch the motion of the clutch rod as someone pushes in the clutch. It will be quite obvious if something is missing or out of place.

I already visually inspected the fork through the hatch and everything looks fine i was alone so i had nobody to push the clutch but it looked all good so if everything looks normal in there does this mean i have to replace the clutch? the sad thing is it worked fine before i fiddled with it
