Can you post a picture of what you had made?
Thanks,

Tech,

I'll gladly take pics and dimensions, but I have no idea how to post pictures. PM me your email address, and I'll send 'em along to ya. If you can post them up here for others, so much the better!

undysworld's spring compressor details and pics:
"In the first pic, you see the entire tool in the separate parts"

"The second pic shows the bolts used to collapse the springs. We used 5/8-8
acme-threaded rod 93410A620 ($30) and welded on nuts 94815A011 (@$3) from McMaster
Carr, if memory serves. They are 7 1/2" long (threaded section only). I cut HMWP
washers (in white) so they spin easily, below standard 5/8" washers.
The bolts go through nuts on the arms, as I'll show later. The arm nuts are
93023A662 (@$20). The forged arms are probably the most critical parts, and must be
made of tool-grade steel. I don't know the exact spec. Hopefully someone with more
knowledge of metals will chime in with a suggestion."

"This next photo shows the arms which the threaded bolts screw into. Dim's are about
1 1/8" x 5/16" on the nut end, and it tapers towards the hooks. Again, these must
be made of some very strong steel. The dimensions allow the hooks to engage an
unsprung spring, as well as collapse it sufficiently to install on the truck. There
is a minimum spring length to pay attention to when collapsing, as you don't want to
collapse it too far and damage the spring. I don't recall the min. length, but it's
in one of the manuals."
From the bottom of the nut to the inside of the hook is 10 1/2".

undysworld's spring compressor details and pics: (Continued)
The photo shows the base plate by itself. It was 1/2" thick steel, cut with
a torch. The pins are 1/4" rod, into a drilled hole and welded on the other side.
They keep the spring from sliding off the base plate. Two of them are just nubs, to
allow the base plate under the spring. To use, the base plate slides in underneath
the spring, then the hooks get hooked over the top of the spring, then the bolts go
through the base plate and into the arm nuts.

These last two photos show one bolt/arm assembled on the base plate. The other arm
would be installed similarly. Note the steel and HMWP washers are between the bolt
head and the base plate to reduce friction. I also polished that area of the base
plate where the HMWP washer contacts, although it's not shown here.

I have just posted this information and pictures for Paul (undysworld) - if you have any questions please ask him or PM him.
Cheers,

I have read all the posts about what not to buy, but I cannot recall ever reading what the Pinz front springs are rated for? Surely there are other vehicles out there that require extremely heavy duty compressors. There has to be one that works, fits.....that Sealy looks good.
