So I'm new to the whole Pinz world and pretty stoked to be here, but I'm finding that things I thought were going to be simple can get a little complex! In an effort to get things tightened up on my 710m I'm changing fluids and doing gaskets at the same time. So this evening after draining the rear diff I went to pull the switch cover off and to my surprise there was more fluid to drain! Anyway, I'm going to go dig through the manual now but I suspect that the diff was overfilled in the past and the fluid worked its way out through the switch. Any input would be great, thanks.

I'm pretty sure there are o-rings and seals between the diff and locker/switch area, which should prevent such leakage. But I don't recall as there was a drain if it did leak. So perhaps it's a slow leak and you can just keep the diff. topped off.

I believe you can get to these without having to pull the differential apart. Perhaps wiser ones will confirm or dispel this comment.

I had this same issue where there was a build up of fluid under the diff switch cover. The diff switch(es) are threaded in and have a seal between them and their seat.

Sometimes the seal gets old and begins to leak and I also found that the plastic insert of the switch sometimes leaks due to the change in temperature. The plastic and the metal expand and contract at different rates and over time apparently fluid leaks thru.

Thanks for the help guys! I think I've got it figured out, just the o-ring on the switch. I don't know how I'm going to drain the extra fluid out of the lockers outer housing but it will be a good adventure!
