Headlight switch tear down

Post by Brickren »

I tore apart the headlight switch because I have no lights. Inside are tabs with beveled tops that ride along the switch barrel that has copper rings. There are cam lobes that lift the tabs. The main hot that comes in as well as the second hot terminal that has the red jumper wire and a third tab have the beveled top broken off. I don't know if I can fix it or get the part. I'm going to probably have to get a new switch but I thought I would post some pictures to show the inside

Geez you'd think they could make a light switch that lasted more than 45-50 years!
