Xantrex Prosine 3.0 24 volt inverter/charger , battery bank and shoreline. I am going to work in solar panels at a later date.

I was going to get to it this weekend and finish it up as well as my winch and HID offroad lights BUT I have orders from my wife that the kids need my attention - she is 100% right and the Pinz just has to wait a while!! DAM KIDS! LOL!!!!!!

ebatteriestogo has the gr8 deals on monster mk agm batteries. bigger the better. using an mppt charge controller (morningstar is the gr8 deal there) allows the use of high voltage panels like the sanyos.

I have 4 of the largest optima yellow tops that I already bought before I learned about odyssey batteries - when the optimas fail I will be going dry cell odyssey batteries for sure!!!

I will take a look at charge controllers and panels from the info you sent me.

that odessey PC1800 looks like a gr8 battery. compare that to an mk of equal 10hr rate and the odessey is way lighter! i need to check into this one.

really? i must have misunderstood. i discount anything that's not agm. i rave about agm's, especially us made. mk's are xlnt in all ways. the real advantage i see with this 1800 is the power-to-weight ratio, which is always what i'm looking for.

you know odessey's are absorbed glass mat (agm) batteries, right?

Yes, I didn't know your mk's were sealed dry cell - I thought they were vented.

dry cell is a different kind of battery from agm. you dont want a dry cell.

what we should be wanting are lithium (after incurring gt8 wealth).

HMMMM! Thought Odyessy were dry/AGM? Learn something new every day!

I have to study battery tech more!

Thanks!

well odessey are agm. if they are really as good as they claim on their site then they're the best i've seen so far. dry cell's are like old school flashlight batteries (zinc-carbon). not sure if they call alkalines "dry".
