Petronix Epoxy Coil Recall

Post by ExpeditionImports »

Hi Guys,

Anyone that has purchased a Pertronix Epoxy coil between January 14th 2009, and October 30th 2009 should take a look at this. Wish I had better news!

Scott, this recall doesn't effect me in any way. But I sure would like to thank you for staying on top of things. It is really comforting to know we can always rely on you.

Should I worry? :? My PZIGCONV kit came from you in September of 2008, it looks the same as those described in this recall however is not in the date range indicated.
Thanks for posting this information.

Hi Ed,

I'm going off of the Pertronix supplied date range from when things changed on their end. I will do a little investigating on this end. Please forward me your order number or name via PM so I can pull the batch information from your order. I can't seem to find an "Ed" that purchased in September of 2008, unless you happen to be Eduardo Acosta which I don't think is the case.

Cheers,

It is pretty much a given that if you purchased an ignition conversion from us since January 2009, you WILL HAVE A COIL THAT IS RECALLED.

Update:

Pertronix has revised their recall dates to cover all "enclosed can" style of Epoxy coils. The dates applicable to this recall have expanded to cover coils distributed between May 2008, to October 30, 2009.

I will update as soon as we are shipping the replacement coils.
