Im sorry that I'm off on the term for the unit... I'm speaking of small white connector that is used to connect the rear lights to the main line which runs back. Its about 4 inches long with set screws on both sides to accept the wires. Its usually mounted just below the absolute rear right of the vehicle.
Mine has rusted pretty badly and the wires oxidized. Id like to replace it with something a bit more resistant to weather. In all reality, I may need to purchase two and create a bridge in the center as the wiring has rotted a few inches in on both ends and will need to cut back a bit. Any recommendations?
Better tail ligh connector block at the rear of the vehicle?

The newer version of that rear connection box is enclosed and uses spade connectors instead of screws. The wires pass thru rubber seals at each end and the cover has a rubber gasket. I've installed one and it's a much better solution and mounts in the same holes.
