Fixed fuel gauge, hurray!

Post by spandit »

Wasn't prepared to go on holiday with a non-functioning fuel gauge so took it out of the dash and tested it - didn't work (when it definitely had before).

Took it apart and found a very fine wire had snapped which needed soldering back on. Also, the connection from the sender wire had snapped too so just soldered a wire on. After that, works a treat!*

Oddly, the brown wire going to the gauge, which is supposed to be an earth wire, was 24V - not sure where it came from

* At least it is reading about 2/3 full which is how much fuel is in the tank
