Slightly misleading title =)
I'm quite aware of how to install the SOLAR 24-12 v equalizer. However, I need to add a slight twist: I need to disable the circuit while the starter is engaged.
My thought is to use a relay that cuts the 12v wire on the equalizer when the starter button is pressed. Is anyone savvy enough to tell me which pins i should connect the various leads to on an automotive relay to accomplish this?

I'm by no means an electrical guru, but I think the SPDT relay at the top of this link is what you need-

wired to 87a so when the relay is energized, then the contact is broken.
