Possible replacement turn signal switch?

VW part #211953513J was the original Pinz switch but are difficult and expensive to find. The G suffix will work but the wire colors are slightly different and you'll need to experiment a bit. This "guts only" switch is new manufacture and may not work in the original switch housing.

I bought a switch from Airhead parts this week, but haven't had time to install it yet. From a '71 Bus.

I purchased the same aftermarket part from the same company earlier this year. I returned it without installing it as I found it to be flimsy and not well made compared to the real thing. I hope that yours is better.

My current Pinz turn signal switch is so messed up that I have no choice but to make the aftermarket unit work. To me it seems as good as the OEM unit.
Fot the Haflinger I modified a VW turn signal switch and it works perfectly. I re-wired the Haffy from scratch also, the harness was showing its age.

Tonight I installed this one http://www.eisparts.com/211953513G.html that I got from pcolette (thanks!) Everything hooked up and is working now. The only issue I had was that the new switch housing wouldnt bolt up to the old ring on the column due to different screw sizes. The old screws were stripped so I had to pull the steering wheel and put the entire new housing on. A little extra work, but it looks better this way anyway.

That is the same unit offered by Airhead parts. With shipping it comes to about the same.
