Bad starter button.?

Post by Twin Pinzies »

I had my starter button fail this morning all of a sudden. I have had experience with a bad button before but it died slowly. This time, all at once. Nothing! I checked my wiring to the starter and all looks good. Part ordered...
Has this ever happened to anyone else?

P.S.- How does one "short" the switch with a wire anyway? It seems like I could just do that until the new button arrives.

According to the schematic, the black wire from the starter to the gray wire from the ignition switch if that's really your problem.

I tried it and it's not the push button. It was a broken wire connector on the starter.
