I replaced my turn signal switch with the airhead parts one and I was still having some issues with blowing the #12 breaker. I kept popping the turn signal flasher and other issues. I started reading about people having issues with the flasher switch, relays, etc.. and decided to scrap it all for a new setup instead of chasing my tail with the old one.
The switch I decided on is the Grote 48282 switch..

You need to swap out the 12v relay on the harness for a 24v one but other than that is was actually pretty easy to tie it all into the factory wiring. It has the emergency flasher, turn signals, and hi/low beam switch all in one and it all works very smooth and the switch is much more robust than the factory one. It is a little oversized but you could make a custom handle for it like I plan to do eventually to trim it down a tad. The only downside is you loose your auto cancel but since the end of the switch sits out near the end of the steering wheel it is really easy to just switch it off as you turn your hands back after making a turn. If anyone is interested I can post more info..
