Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best...

Post by Jack Russell Racing »

I have dunced around for months trying to get an elegant USB connection for my phone (i.e. GPS!) in the 710M. Finally, a co-worker said, "Just use that motorcycle plug on the dashboard!". I replied, "huh?" He says, "Yeah, I've got the same outlet on my BMW bike"

To make a long story short, this thing works nicely: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AU0OA9C/ref ... 1_ST1_dp_1

The box clearly shows that its rated up to 24v. I've had an old/junky cell phone plugged in for the past 24 hours without any real problem. I'll give it a while longer before I try with an expensive Galaxy S4. The plug is a little bit loose in the socket, but with some electrical tape to shim it, it works fine.

Duh.

(Double "duh" -- the outlet is only energized when the white knob above the outlet is pulled outward)
