Safely draw 15amps J-Box connector behind passenger seat?

Post by OhioPinz »

Wanting to hook up a RAK-15 ration cooker in my 710M. It draws 15amps. Is the J-box connector behind the passenger seat a good location?

Not sure what your ration cooker is but, I had a MRE heater that was intended for a Humvee and I felt that it drew too many amps to be useful to me and I decided not to use it.

On my pinz, that box is unfused unswitched, and probably not wired to size for 15 amps. Wired to the starter positive.

You want a fuse at the very least.
