WTB Original working Speedometer

Post by boeing7873 »

Hello Ladies and Gents,
Anyone that went to the electronic speedometer willing to sell the original stock? Mine is a mess, not repairable most likely.
Thanks

Out of curiosity, what's wrong with yours? Has it been opened up yet?

I repaired mine, and I have few mechanical skills. Just follow the instructions on a post here somewhere. The alternative is expensive. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-100-km-h-Mo ... 18&vxp=mtr

Florian Schönegger/Pinzgauer Ersatzteile Gastein had new speedometers in stock for €150.00, but right now I can't find them on his site... EDIT: Back on sale again http://pinzgauer-ersatzteile.webnode.at/produkte-1/

Worth a look, and to drop him an email.

The original poster has 14 posts and might not be familiar with the vagaries of what goes where and I...well I just followed along with the flow of the stream. Business concluded.

Diodes and resistances unit

Post by boeing7873 »

I was having issues with the dashboard lights and found this thing obviously not original, all messed up. It looks like a set of diodes and resistances, numbered 68 and 69 on the electrical diagrams.
What is it called? I would like to do a search in the forum but can't find the right words to find it.
I would like to know the alternatives to fix this, either buy a complete unit or rebuild this one with new components. Still have issues like no fuel gauge working, some dash lights not working, etc.
Thank you,
Jerome

That's item #09-40-55, a diode housing. IIRC, it is used to dim the various lights in blackout mode. I think it is only activated when you turn your headlight switch to the blackout positions.
I think I have a used one. If I can find it I'll take a picture and post.

Shown just below "#21 wiper switch" on schematic is the stock diode / resistor pack you have pictured. :)

edit: Looks like you were quicker on the draw Paul.
