my pedal was going all the way to the floor before actually stopping the truck, it would be nice if i hardly had to press the pedal at all before the truck started stopping, how do i adjust this?

The brakes require periodic manual adjustment. When is the last time you adjusted your brakes? There have been many threads on this.
