steering linkage leaking oil or steering fluid

Post by ziegler »

I tried looking up the part of the steering linkage that's leaking but could not find it, it's the round part between the upper and lower idler arms. Do I need to replace the whole part or the O rings and bushings associated with it. Thanks Zig

Are you referring to the large chromed ball, item #18 or #19 on the attached diagram? If so, I've found that carefully loosening and removing item #29, the seal retaining ring allows you to give it a good cleaning of accumulated grit, grime and grease. Then carefully re-assemble and tighten the retaining ring. This may solve your problem. Good luck!
